Each upazila has an 'Upazila Food Controller's Office'. This office is under the Food Department of the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management and is managed by the District Food Controller.

· Almost all upazilas under the Upazila Food Controller have one or more ‘local supply centers’ known as LSDs or food warehouses.
